Flow Traders is looking for Graduate Software Developers to join our growing Product Development team in Amsterdam. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading proprietary trading firm with an entrepreneurial and innovative culture at the heart of its business. What you will do

  • Work on applications that support the core business of the company
  • Improve our proprietary trading platform by writing efficient and performant code, designing new and innovative solutions
  • Maintain existing systems with a focus on low latency and stability
  • Work in small business-aligned teams and follow agile practices to ensure fast adaptability
  • Work side-by-side with Trading and other relevant teams every day, which creates swift feedback loops and immediate insight into the value that each change provides
  • Maintain shared libraries, encourage code re-use, and continuously evolve our views on application architecture

 

Onboarding

As a Graduate Software Developer, you will begin your career at Flow Traders with an extensive one-year training program at our Headquarters in Amsterdam. To start, you will learn everything you need to know about our core business, the different departments at Flow Traders and how technology plays a key role in improving our proprietary trading platform. The core of the program will involve collaborating with our development teams and your fellow graduate developers on various projects, which cover multiple areas of our technology landscape. Throughout the program, you will receive continuous support from your dedicated mentor, not only in the field of technology, but also in your personal development. At the conclusion of the program, you will present a final project to the Heads of Product Development and our management team, including the Chief Technology Officer.

 

 What you need to succeed

  • University degree in Computer Science or similar, graduating in 2025
  • Knowledge of C++ is required
  • Interest to specialize in C++ is required
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and Git is required
  • Interest in the finance industry, preferably trading
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to take ownership and work in teams
  • Experience in software development in the financial industry is considered an advantage
  • Based in Europe at the time of the recruitment process
