Flow Traders is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team in our Amsterdam office. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading proprietary trading firm with an entrepreneurial and innovative culture at the heart of its business.

In this role you will contribute in shaping the future of procurement and have direct impact on the company goals through our values of teamwork, drive, and ownership. We are looking for someone who understands the Procure to Pay process, and is able to manage high impact assignments independently. The ideal candidate is an proactive self-starter with a natural curiosity who strives to make an impact in shaping procurement excellence.

What you will do

  • Ownership of strategic sourcing strategies and supplier relationships to actively support the speed, flexibility and scale required for Flow Traders procurement needs
  • Lead sourcing activities, negotiations and contract award while managing stakeholder expectations to ensure the best interest of our firm and its internal stakeholders
  • Act as a facilitator and build solid relationships with stakeholders and vendors driving and sustaining communication channels to create a strategic network of partners
  • Independently complete procure-to-pay activities with high business value including processing purchase requests, vendor enrollment, generating purchase orders, contract uploads, and invoice management
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations, including legal and ethical considerations which add best business value
  • Contribute to our culture of continuous improvement by challenging current processes
  • Drive the simplification and optimization of the procurement process for leveraging automation for efficiency and improved user experience. Follow lean, fit-for-purpose procurement approaches that scale without slowing the business.

What you need to succeed

  • 3+ years' experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain ideally in a FinTech environment
  • University degree, in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with expert level knowledge of commercial markets and emerging technologies
  • Ability to make decisions, cope under pressure, and adapt to changing situations in a collaborative and fast paced environment
  • Advanced understanding of IT Services and SaaS business models
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time efficiently and take full ownership of your projects
  • Ability to question current practices and push for business progress
  • Strong English communication skills
